Rumor: The Sims 4 is going online?

I hate to post such things when we’ve got many years of waiting to do.  At this point, anyone can say anything.  Regardless I’ll guess I’ll post it anyways, but keep in mind that this (unlike the Sims 4 being worked on previously by an EA employee) doesn’t really have any merit behind it – it’s just speculation at this point.

InfiniteSims picked up on an update by O Sim Louco who was able to ‘contact someone’ about TS4.  It appears they are tossing around the idea to include online aspects much like The Sims Online had.  Right now, it’s merely ideas – we don’t know for sure…but I think one of these days The Sims will find its way back to online gaming.  You can only expand it so much graphic wise and idea wise.  It’s one feature they should consider re-exploring again.  The Sims Online was just too early for it’s time I suppose (and a tad boring).  The only thing I hate about this is the monthly payments – especially if we had to give EA our money.  This may be 1 game I’ll own that I’ll probably never play if that’s the case.

  • Michael

I don’t mind getting Sims 4, but I hope it is an option for it to be online. I did not get The Sims Online because I am not interested to chat with people online. It is not my cup of tea. If Sims 4 is an online game that it is required similar to The Sims Online, then I am not getting it.

  • Andrew

This is such a great idea!!!! I miss the Sims Online so so much!!!!

  • Thomas

Oh. My. God! *Mouth Drops In Amazement* I have been waiting for the online feature to come back! I loved the original The Sims Online, it was so much fun, and if they bring it back, who knows what new features they’ll have! Although this is just a rumor, I’m already stoked for TS4 haha! But, would it be required to use the online feature, or do you think there will be a way for it to be an option to the gamer? For those who only want to play the game and not pay for an online feature?

  • Simplicity

Hmm.. this could be REALLY good or REALLY bad– depends on how it is set up. ^_^ If I’m not mistaken, Sims Online failed for a variety of reasons; mainly due to the online economy as well as the small range of activities. I personally love MMOs that emphasize a sort of “background lifestyle” such as skills (or traits in this case), homes, and things such as cooking, sewing, woodworking; you know, hobbies and such. I also enjoy the aspect of having jobs; the idea of an “interworking community” could be marvelously executed in Online form, however. Ambitions seems to also lean to this, with Architects being able to change other sims’ houses (useful in online gameplay when 1 player wants to help another player with their house) or fashionistas who can change other sims’ styles (useful when 1 player wants to help another) all the while your sims get paid to do this. :D It could work marvelously, or it could be exploited and abused massively– it all depends on the system. o_o

  • Kolby

If it’s online, it better be optional. I don’t want to buy a game that I can’t play unless I pay. Online play would be awesome though!

  • Robodl95

I could see this happening maybe…. EA gets asked this question A LOT and they always shoot it down immediately this means 2 things
    1. They honestly will never go back to online
    or
    2. This is there next big project and they want to keep it underwraps

The MMO field does feel like a natural thing for Sims but it should be kept OUT of the regular franchise, I wouldn’t the monthly payments

  • http://www.modthesims.info/member.php?u=3207738 tea_and_blues

I agree. I wouldn’t pay the monthly payments either. And imagine the mess it would make of the CC community! I think if this is a possibility it should be a spin off. Some limited online activities in TS4 might be cool though, like a totally optional online component. But CC would still present a issue there.

  • http://none LoveGTAandSims or i dont have a name

TS4 Fail !!! no one would pay regurly
any ways EA is the starting of EAting so EA is a money eater lol SIMple wright ( will wright)

  • Connor

Well, EA are saying that all game will have online aspects. However, maybe they got mixed up and were talking about the online aspect of The Sims 3 on console.

    • http://www.simprograms.com Judhudson

That could be a possibility. They should probably test this idea out on a console game first before taking it to PC and see how the gamers respond to it.

  • TickleOnTheTum

Well if they go online then they will lose me as a player. I hate online games. Also they aren’t proving as popular as some would have you think, look at Cities XL which should have been a big hit and yet is slowly dying out!

There is so much more they can do with the standalone game yet. Give us an entire world to build on. Allow our Sims to evolve over generations. Give us photo realistic graphics. Add Touch screen interaction. Basically, make the Sims a 100% accurate Simulation of a world. Optional, Expansion Packs could add in SimCity like functionality such as zoning, and taxes and traffic management.

There’s a lot more that I want to see in The Sims Standalone…

  • http://www.missingstudios.com Jonny

I enjoyed The Sims Online – While it lasted :’-( .Except for the subscription fees as you mentioned. But if you think about it, there are tons of games these days that have online multiplayer and they’re all free – So I see no reason as to why EA wouldn’t make part of The Sims 4 a free online multiplayer.

(By the way, didn’t someone at EA demand all games have online functionality and some form of DLC as of 2011? “The Sims 3 on Console” maybe similar to The Sims Bustin’ Out with it’s online multiplayer)

  • doodlesam

If Ea did this…they would lose another buyer. By all means, make a standalone sims game like the sims online was. But do NOT make it the sims 4.
The reason I play sims is because its well… my own. Every house I have in the neighborhood is mine. Every sim I make is mine. Giving in to online fans of the series would mean half the game would probably end up being watered down. We would probably only be allowed to have one sim per server.
Would we be allowed to build new houses and lots? Most likely not…
Multiple controlled sims in the neigborhood?…most likely not.
    Familys?! Again…most likely not.
Expansion packs? Please…there would only be the store.
What about sim players that don’t have internet? Would they be able to play? Probably not and if so…probably in an empty, watered down game solely created for online play.
All those features they added into the sims 2 and then into sims 3, would probably be chucked out the window..
Ultimate customization of our town and sims? most likely gone.
The games features would probably degrade back to the sims 1, excluding the graphics of course.

The sims just isn’t an online game…and most that plead for it to be online, don’t understand what loved features of the sims would have to be removed.
Custom content? How would that work out? Would Ea just do a complete crackdown on third party mods or items? Or will we be plagued by simmers that constantly hack there money up to a million?
Also probably the most important thing to note…
We will no longer be god…
Thats what the sims is…a god game. What about the option to pause and speed up time? That would be impossible if the game was online.

Overall I am fine with them creating an online sims game…but only if it is not a major title in the series like the sims 4.
For in doing so, they would alienate half of the fanbase.
Of course I may be being a little over dramatic, but still. I do not want the sims to be online.
But don’t get me wrong…I too, wouldm’t mind an online sims game but only if it was not a major title. For that would ruin the series…(For me anyway… :P)

  • doodlesam

Sorry about the long comment…too many paragraphs.

  • http://simoperations.com/ Thomas

@doodlesam I completely disagree with mostly everything you said, respectfully! I’m, sorry, but I do not think EA would not include any of that! Why would they downgrade? Taking away all of those aspects of the game defeat the whole purpose of The Sims! EA may be annoying at times, but they are not stupid! They will not ruin there most popular, and the most popular PC franchise of all time just for one feature, online! I think they’ll add just about all of that. Yes there is a certain amount of space one game can hold, but The Sims is a “God-like” game, and taking away features like Familys and Object Customization and Building Homes, would completely revert us back to 2000, and I’m sure EA isn’t that stupid! But your last point, not making it part of the base game, I agree with! :D

  • http://www.mydailywalk.co.za blackhuff

If The Sims 4 do go online, it will sure means the end for me because internet services are expensive and I do not like playing online games.

  • doodlesam

@Thomas, Yeah…I see your point. My comment was a bit on the doom sayer side lol :P . It could have the potential to be good, but as an other commenter has mentioned they could either do it right…or they could mess it up miserably. I guess I don’t want to see the sims take that chance, better to make it standalone game than a major title of the series. :)

  • jeffrey

I sure hope not! If it’s online I won’t be getting it at all. And I’ve loved Sims since the first one.

  • daniel

great idea, the sims online did get back on track and got amazing as ea-land but ea shut it due it to not making profit after 1 month of the rebrand (they cant wait) ive lost my mojo for sims since then, and we need something online.

  • http://Website Nikki

I can’t tell you how many times I was over at my friend’s house or hanging with my sister, we all have our laptops out playing the sims and one of us said that we wished that there was a way our games could be interactive. That if I called my sister’s character in my game on her screen she would get a message asking if she wanted to talk to my character.

If I had it my way TS4 would be able to link with other people’s games the same way a DS can. You have your game. They have theirs but there is a way to sync the games if you want to cross-play together. And for the people that like the whole Sims Online experience maybe you can buy a monthly subscription or minute cards like an xbox and meet up in an online vacation location. That way people could meet other Sims gamers they could sync with later or just chat but it’s not mandatory someone pay a monthly fee just to play the base game or sync with other characters.

Now keep in mind I don’t have much technical experience so I don’t know how plausible all this is but it seems to me the technology is out there and being done in one way or another. We just need to figure out how to combine the best parts for optimal gaming experience.

  • Sabrina9596

it would be SO AWESOME if they put it online. it would have to be the exact same as the PC game or it would be kinda boring. but i wouldnt pay for it ever if it was online. so i hope they dont do that. but i LOVE LOVE LOVE the sims 3.

  • http://Website Loic Farris

A required online pay feature would cost them my business as well, but if it were optional or free I wouldn’t mind so much. What I’d really prefer would be a LAN option that would let my Wife’s and my Sims interact while we both play. I was hoping this had existed on TS3 but it doesn’t. :(

  • http://Website Name (required)

I dont understand how they could improve on teh sims anymore?! Yes they could improve the graphics, but couldn’t ea just release more addons for sims 3 that enriches play and updates the games graphics? What about the people who love sims, but dont have interent, you might think everyone does, but not everyone has access. I reckon (as much as i ADORE sims) that EA would lose a relative amount of buissness if they introduced sims 4 online, although it is a good idea, im not willing to pay money i dont have. Sims 3 seems to have amazing gameplay, why cant they update it so there is an online feature…

  • http://Website Repeated Meme

I could see the town/city becoming the online hub. When you go to town/city you go to a large online community where you can meet up with your friends, hang out (go on adventures?), ect… Then give the option for inviting your friends over to your house to hang out, party, ect…

Of course the multiplayer option would remain just that, an option. If the user wished they can play a normal (non-multiplayer) town.

Would help spice up the franchise and give the option for custom content(clothes, cars, sims) to actually be something to show off.

  • http://Website clown_hating_pun[email protected]

I was one of the original The Sims Online Players, and honestly, it was my favorite Sims game. There’s only so much I can take playing a game by myself before I get bored. I love the concept of the Sims…to me, it just was missing something vital after they canceled The Sims Online.

  • mevo19

I completely agree with clown hating punk @yahoo.com

I was also a player back in december of 01 or 02 was it when it just came out.

It was such a great game, you just had to use your imagination to make it fun aka role play. As corny as that may sound I mean any mmo is a RP game one way or another. I was actually in jolly pines inside a “mafia” was great fun wish they just added more content. And another fact being that TSO came out when mmo’s were first starting out and for back than TSO was a big deal. I am sure they could recreate it and make it at least 20x better.

  • mevo19

    Forgot to mention two things.

Yes playing offline with NPC’s gets boring as hell. I can only play as far as building the house and skilling a few times and killing people than I just quit the game.

And about TS4, how reliable is this source I mean c’mon its in spanish lol.

I have no doubts that there is a TS4 in the making, some EA staff member tweeted about it. But where is there any proof that they would make it online like tso?

  • http://Website Paige

I personaly wouldn’t pay to play online when i can play at home for free also if there is going to be a sims4 then here is a list of things that myself and my best friend Jack think there should be:
    Animals
Divorses <– or however you spell that word.
    seasons/snow/rain/sunshine/Christmas
Religions/churches and places where people pray
    Bigger towns/citys
    More toys for the children
    Months/years
    Planes/ airports
    Trains/train stations
more choice on clothes and colours
    and much,much more…

  • http://Website James

I rekon sims online would be amazing, if they found a way to make it work through amazing creativity, but i doubt that, there are so many features that would be impossible online, like doodlesam said, we wouldnt be able to speed up or pause time, and also how would familys exist? because when you create a character and have a baby, who plays the baby?

Also sleeping, the game would not work if it was 24 minute days, and also 24 hour days would mean that your character would have to sleep about 8 hours a day, also when you log out, what happens to your mood?

Id imagine if they could get it running like World of warcraft (Obviously with the different theme) it would work very well, but there are some key factors that i mentioned that would devolve the game

  • http://Website Sara

Well if they want to make an online game they should make one that has nothing to do with the main games cause >_> Im not the online Sims type, ALOT of people arent

  • http://Website Nicole

I hope they only make it an option, or similar to how The Sims Online was, being completely separate from the actual game. I really don’t want to play it online and won’t get the game if that’s the only option, but I understand that some people do. So I’d prefer it to just be an option, so everyone can be happy.

  • yldkat

sims 4 is going to be so much fun..i hope it releases as soon as i get bored of it….lol
and its going to be the game of my dreams..yeppie! :D

  • yldkat

the sims 4 should be online and free. and it should also be available at stores to buy and make it all yours.. ;)

  • http://Website hi

i think that the online would feature would make the whole sims series go downhill.

  • Amanda

I miss The Sims Online soo much! I hope they come out with another Sims game to play online! I don’t mind paying at all, because I used to. Anyone try playing Tirnua? I have, and it doesn’t come anywhere close to how amazing TSO was. :/

  • http://Website ttt

i just care about sims 4 comeing out

  • http://Website SimmerE15

Woudn’t it be awesome if you could have an option to put one of your sims in your househld up for “playability” and thn someone can join with you and play that sim

Aalso with other simmers actions you will have a yes or no option

  • http://Website Cb50

I hope the sims 4 is online..i have missed the sims online. If its more like secondlife i think it will do well. hopefully though, the monthly fee to play won’t be so expensive like 10.00 or less. otherwise most people that would being willing to play it won’t play if its to expensive.

It would be great to see the sims online again. I miss it terribly. However, I still stay in touch with several friends that I made in the game. I am in and I now several others that would be in as well. I hope Maxis reads these posts.

  • http://Website Daniel

    @Smilz

Maxis don’t develop it. It’s The Sims Studio.

  • http://Website Daniel

Also, TSO became FREE the year it closed. EA rebranded it and 2-3 weeks later said it was shutting down.

So I guess if loads of people buy it, cause The Sims is so popular it will do well. Back in 2002, it was way too early for online.

  • http://Website Mevo20

I agree completely that it was to early for online play back in 2001 actually when the beta was out.

It doesnt sound like it was that long ago but a game like TSO needs at least annual updates which TSO didn’t have.

This day and age mmo gaming has come a far far way specially in the last 4-5 years.
I disagree that the sims 3 graphics would overwhelm the game though making it very laggy.

They would need to rethink the designs and graphics but give users much more freedom to create and design their own ideas to be used in the game, and stamping it with a M for mature.
Or at least two servers one for 18+ and one for 17 and under.
I’d like to see players have the ability to create an alcoholic beverage from the wine machine that actually makes your sim wasted … or create a smoking device like a pipe or cigar that they can sell/buy.
And the ability to create things that effect your sims mood like alcohol makes them drunk ect ect.
They play it down for the children.

But I think more adults play this game than teenagers but I disagreed with TSO having like 6+ cities aka servers.. should have just been one city for 18+ and one for those under 18.

  • http://Website JohnBigOz

    @Mevo20 I completely agree

Though I do feel that the graphics should be less demanding for the new tso if it’s true, as many people, especailyl in these times, have no money to upgrade their computers, such as me, my Sims 3 barely work properly as they shoudl.

  • http://Website Kurupt

Wow guys, why cant they make a regular featured game with all of the singe player aspects that you guys love so much and just include a Co Op mode where you can connect with someone else through lan or something. It would be completely free and you get the best of both worlds. You don’t have to play multiplayer if you dont want to, but it sure would be cool to have the option to play with a friend or two.

If they wanted to, they could even included the option for lan for sims 3 and the sims 2. All of that without a subscription in sight.

ts4 would be good if dey made it for online an single player but on the online option to b like the tso an probrably add multiplayer an exclude online cuz no 1 will pay fees an it would probrably mess up da game so make ts4 a base game with alot more thins to do an seasons an add pets to da game maybe addin vampires witches (etc) an tso new version a standalone game cuz da base game will get ruined so ya an maybe add pre teens to ts4 an adults in mid 40s plus make aliens again to the game an make it 25 years after ts2 an add more things like clothes an stuff maybe u could be a babysitter in ts4 for teens or teacher a maid an finally see ur sims get in the cars an seein wat ur sims do in buildings again like ts ts2 plz an add celeberty things too plus make ts4 like the best sims game like wen ts2 came out wit new features like make da game new not da same plz an make da console versions come out wit da pc 1s too plus make da console exactly like da computer an bring back buildin lots an controllin 1 dan more family in a saved file cuz ts3 for console didnt hav that an for ts4 more place to exploror

  • Jarrett

I think bringing the The Sims to online play is an excellent idea. A lot of online simulation games out now have been successful EX: Vside, Secondlife, Kaneva. I think it should be optional though because not everyone is willing to pay, and others just dislike online games as mentioned above in other posts. I just think it would be awesome to play with other sim fans around the world. Make new friends, chat, visit eachothers sim houses around the world. If they do decide to do this, I hope it will be available for the console versions as well. All the systems now Ps3, Wii, and Xbox360 are all able to access the internet.

  • http://Website Bec

Personally, I think that if the sims 4 was to go online, it would ruin our personal gaming experience and have a negative on impact our ability to unleash our own creativity in what we build. going online would completely take away the whole idea of the sims and gameplay. it would be okay if they made it optional but i would not be online.

keep it offline and you will have more gamers

  • http://Website Chester

As long as they still allow all mods including adult mods, then online play would be great. But in order to be worth it, nude mods, sexy skins, and adult animation mods must be allowed. Even if they are confined to their own server or some such idea.

  • http://Website Melanie

The reason TSO was a flop was because it evolved into a world of meta homes, you didn’t have to visit other lots because the meta homes had everything in it. It was only later that rules were added to limit what players could have on their properties that it upset many and they left in a huff. The lots that remained were practically online brothels, no thanks to adult content such as love beds and the perverse minds of the players wanting to ERP. Plus there was many other things I don’t want to go into too much detail about that would cause this response to be already too big to read that made the game very unappealing, dull, and repetative.

Are you some kind of crazy guy with no girlfriend and a cartoon fetish? haha

I think online might be a very good feature to have considered with the Sims 4. However, I hope that will not be the prime added feature, I hope for more amazing things!

I hope TS4 goes online. Like you can hold a house party and have any sim thats online at the moment come over. Like a giant Sims world. you work for upgrades to the house. or build it, buy stuff. the whole sims deal. I think it would be cool to have an online house party.

    Kyle:

I think it would be cool to have an online house party.

I think this would be a cool aspect, if you could work together actually building towards a family and house etc. have an entirely interactive world with your friends. I mean second life has the basis of that, but it is pretty boring because it does not have any real solid value with the character/environment interaction. At least for me, though I don’t easily get bored of the sims, so interacting in your world with your friends and having a more interesting approach of someone else’s character and their influence of their free will on your world could make it even more interesting. Especially now that we are well prepared for the sims to connect that way again, where as the Sims Online original was done before they were ready to take on something like that, the sims original simply did not have enough content to be able to thrive as an online community for long. Now that it is two generations of sims later – err would be three by the Sims 4 I think they could pull it off brilliantly. Either way The Sims 4 will be great I am sure. THOUGH I do think they should fix the things wrong with The Sims 3 first.

  • http://zequez.com.ar Zequez

I agree with the integration of social networks. But I don’t think The Sims should be online. It wouldn’t be The Sims.
Maybe some kind of exchange of collections, items or themes between online players, like a World of Warcraft auction house, but I don’t think it should be played online…

  • http://Website Rachel Lynn H.

I disagree about the game being online also, I’d rather The Sims 4 be a offline game that can be played just in case people have Internet problems, which does happen from time to time. EA need to fix the game so that your custom made Sims cannot be randomly deleted along with townies WITHOUT your consent, plus what also should be fixed is the sim people not interacting with each other unless you tell them too, they should talk to talk other and interact the way they are supposed too, like The Sims 2. It’s not cool. And the whole buy all the objects, hair and clothes and expansion packs online for expensive prices like $20.00-$80.00? That’s a rip-off, exactly why I’m not getting The Sims 3. I hope The Sims 4 does not make you PAY any money at all for ALL custom content created by EA,
The Sims 3 does not let you completely customise your neighbourhood, building it up from a terrain created in Sim City, to decorating it and laying out your lots, etc. the way the Sims 2 did. Also the graphics are much-more realistic nature-wise, but the Sims in the Sims 3 themselves don’t look realistic at all- they look like very creepy dolls. open neighborhood thing is cool, though. Bring back the “Body Shop” feature of TS2 into TS4, because the TS3 games are very boring, limited and frustrating without the ability to create, make or have Custom Content made by Sim lovers everywhere, which tons of people love to have in their game. The angle rotation is the best part of The Sims 3. As for the Sims 4 expansion packs, make them like The Sims 2 where any sim could go Downtown to have fun in a cab for a short time, even invite friends over to join them going Downtown, leaving a few sims behind to take care of the babies/toddlers/children. And clothes should be bought at the Mall in The Sims 4, too. What EA did with The Sims 3 was take away creative control from the player. This is what made so many fans angry. I’m sure the anger will simmer down over time but the overall disappointment and missed potential will remain. The Sims 2 was about playing GOD. It is an integral part of what made The Sims so successful and loved. For EA to have taken that away from the player is a blow to a large group of The Sims fanbase. Now, it’s still possible they will add more controls in future expansion packs so I’m not giving up on this game yet. It has a lot of potential and I would like EA to use it to it’s fullest. We also need to CONTROL ALL THE FAMILIES in the neighborhood like in TS2, not just one saved family per neighborhood, that is boring and aggravating. Causing families to permanently be moved/deleted is the most lame thing ever. Why didn’t they just add a pop up saying, “the town’s population is exceeding it’s maximum capacity, please choose X number of Sims to move away”. It’s like selling an HD TV “where none of the non-HD channels will work- oh, well, we forgot to actually watch it before we shipped it out to Best Buy, just watch only the HD channels for now and maybe later we’ll send out a fix. By the way, the remote control won’t work so stick to one channel. Thanks for buying it, though! “, Next, the controls. Sims 3 controls: Clumsy. In Sims 2 the controls are simple, friendly, and easy to use. Sims 3 controls are strangely clunky and makes you jump through alot of hoops for something as simple as switching families. And plus the Mystery Babies. Single Sims will mysteriously spawn babies by themselves. The other parent does not show up in the family tree. This needs to be like The Sims 2 where the 2 sims you choose do “Try For A Baby” to have kids. Unlike some of these comments, i think the sims online for ts4 would be a rather fun intriging game, but they should have the option of being able to connet and play online or just play offline for those with no internet, or poor connections, Im a big fan of the sims and i think all the games ea has created are brilliant and i love watching them come up with new ideas, through out all the sims games. ts1 ts2 ts3 and the old online game, No matter how expensive they may be, although in my eyes arnt very much at all considering how often i randomly pick up the game and play it. I think ive got my moneys worth, and no matter what they decide to do next ill be first in line to get there newst game. Btw ea needs to create a seasons and pets expansion pack for the sims3 or something similar to them. But i do think they need to create some sort of up dated sims online game, being the sims 4 , or just a new advanced version of the sims online altogether.

I hope The Sims 4 does not make you PAY any money at all for ALL custom content created by EA,The Sims 3 does not let you completely customise your neighbourhood, building it up from a terrain created in Sim City, to decorating it and laying out your lots, etc. the way the Sims 2 did. Plus The Sims 3 is extremely GLITCHY, EA needs to fix all the bugs and glitches before they release TS4 out and other future Sim games.

For some players the game isnt about the neigborhoods design, its about the families and i LOVE the way they have made it more realistic, If you could play all the families in the neigbourhood the game wouldnt beable to advance it would be the same people same lives over and over unless you played them and changed them yourself, and i dont like having to control all of them and constantly having to go though all the houses and more or less update them. Thats what makes the sims3 so unique and great! the neigborhood and people get married die and have children all on there own, you dont have to control them! P.S if all the sims games were exactly alike what would be the point of buying the newer ones… there wouldnt be. My advice to you, stick to the sims 2 , sounds like its more your style. So dont complain for the rest of us. I am quite… no not quite i am really happy the way the sims 3 has turned out.

  • http://Website Boombox

More people, less control. I’d rather have The Sims 4 offline. It won’t work. I prefer to be the ultimate controller of my game than to see other people sabotaging my house/neighborhood.

  • http://Website Takeru

I was in the TSO beta and stayed with TSO till the servers shut down at the bitter end. It was horribly sad for many of us, but it needed to be done.

A few key issues were lack of user created objects. Cash flow control and lack of flow between lots and cities.

I would like to see a tiered version of the sims 4 where you can play offline, allow specific players to join in your personal neighborhood (like individual cities). And the full blown online experience.

  • thesimspuppetmaster

you know what would be soo fun, if they made a sims game that you could create your own parks and even all the houses i know it would take weeks but if your really good then it might just take like a day, wheb itd complete then it would be the best game ever lol also i think that they should put more effot into makeing the clothes and the furniter lol :) tell me what you think

  • http://Website Rachel Lynn H.

I like playing all the families and controlling them, many other people do too, that way it’s like playing God and I can choose which sims get to be married to each other, how much children they have, that way they get to be together the way I want them, I like playing their god, it’s fun plus not being in control over my Sims is not my idea of fun, other people agree with me too. but there needs to be features from The Sims 2 like I mentioned and The Sims 1 such as the go-go dancing cage, the cake with the adult entertainers as well as the mud baths and massage tables. We need the Werewolf Sims back, since they are a common rival of vampires, and werewolves as well as PlantSims. We need magical powers and spells much easier to control too. Instead of having it online, there should be more options in clothing and hair style such as Royalty, Japanese kimono-tops, Hippie Clothing, Posh (like the clothing worn by the characters from “Clue” as well as the furnishings), 40’s and 50’s styled rockabilly dresses and hairstyles, as well as “Norse, Roman, and Greek goddesses and gods” themed clothes, as well as bringing back the Urban style clothes and hairstyles, social interactions from “The Urbz: Sims In The City”, tons of sorority and fraternity-themed outfits and colleges for Young Adult Sims, plenty of emo, scene, punk and gothic clothing and hairstyles and Elf Sims (elves are not elves without elf ears) and Fairy Sims. Also introduce an heaven and underworld for Sims too, with AngelSims and the Underworld Sims, who will teach your sims how to use magical powers and become an Angelsim or a Underworld Sim. Also the bubble blowing machine and the party buffet table need to be brought back to TS4. I’m going to wait till The Sims 4 to see if they brought the changes I want and this game needs.

  • http://Website FF

For those who don’t like to play online, you have The Sims 1, 2 and 3 to play lol.. but for the rest of us who are anxiously hoping to be able to play online, I think it would take the game to a much more interesting level. I’ve grown bored playing the Sims 3, because there is no interaction. I wish, like it was mentioned earlier, we could have get togethers & invite people we know (their Sims Characters I mean lol) or meet them in the street, call to chat, get married to, etc. Playing just by myself gets old very quick, it’s just plain boring and lonely. Please, pretty please with bacon, come up with an online Sims. Those who don’t agree, you don’t have to play lol.

  • http://www.theghostbox.com Brian

Honestly I can’t see an online component to Sims working for the simple fact that they will do as they always do and try to milk it in the most profitable way possible. IE subscription/microtransaction. This will not work for Sims.

However if they were to be smart and set it up as a clientserver system and allow players to host their own servers and even play it on LAN that could bring Sims back to the top of the pile in terms of most popular/best games of all time. But I fully expect them to screw it up by setting up some DRM “lobby” system that forces players to connect to their servers if they wish to play or worse the subscription system. That’s EA for you unfortunately.

Online Sims? It sounds sort of interesting, but I’d only get it if it wasn’t some massive community and you could play with maybe five or six of your friends that you invited into your neighbourhood. Then complete strangers couldn’t sabotage my house or relationships!

Also, I love the sims 3, but in my opinion it’s a bit hard to learn and quite complicated at first. I love the new Create-a-Sim, but I think that’s what EA focused on and wasn’t able to fix the rest of the game.

we don`t need a whole online palooza. We need it where we can invite our real sims friends.I think that it shouldn`t be a sims 4.That`s to much to hope to hope from e.a. that`s rude and demanding.People who are giving a thousand ideas, They know what they are doing, not everything is perfecto, but if it was the way you liked it not everyone else would.I think the Sims franchise is perfect the way it is.No matter what they do.If you don`t like the new advancements then stay in the past with TS2 players. That`s your choice.Stop citizing.Remember the people who made the sims 2 also made the sims 3.Meaning you are critizing them too. They work really hard on the sims. The whole idea is wonderful. If you don`t like it, take years of hard work make it way better, sell over millions of copies, put in updates, make the animations, all the interactions, then maybe i`ll care what you say.

What? The Sims 4 is an online games?I think I would suggest its in the normal types which as same as TS3 but its should have a lot of changes including a high graphics of the games. The director can also refers to those amazing games which have a wonderful graphics such as Dragon Age Origin or Final Fantasy XIII(13). Moreover, the director should also adds some relations between the Sims such as friends which they will automatically enjoyed talking whenever they meets and even sometimes, they will visits our houses without our called and spending a night at our houses. Besides that, it would also provides us a new appearance such as we can makes our owns weight or height, creating a hairstyles in any types by making in our owns, enable aging, the body shapes and many mores. In this cases, our Sims will becomes more realistic. Therefore, I would agree if TS4 is in an offline games but I will disagree if TS4 is an online games.

I don’t think the Sims should go online, but I do think it would be fun if maybe you could play and build families/relationships/whatever with a few friends. I wouldn’t play if it was some big community thing. Whatever they do, it should be free. Once you’ve paid for the game itself, that is. I think that it is simply ridiculous to pay monthly or whatever. I don’t really want to spend a fortune on clothing, items, or hairstyles either.

  • Matt from the land down under

    When they bring out TS4…
The CAS should be sperate from the game all together this would make the game take a lot less room (gigs) and if they release it early would get people exicted about it more.
Personally i never got the chance to play online but if it does come out it needs to be PERFECT EA lost a lot of fans when ts3 came out and making it only online theyd lose even more. Keep this as optional.
All previous Expansion packs should able to be downloaded for free on the net for ts4 it was a real kick in the teeth when ts3 and i had just spent all that money on eps and stuff packs.
Personally i love the graphics in ts3 and if they take it to far then you have to get a new graphics card :(.
Where ts3 loses is were back in ts2 you could god way more and more control i miss that.
Stuff packs should become style packs and only contain bewteen 10-20 objects meaning theyre quicker to produce and cheaper at like $5 or possably if the normal price is 20 then for 10 you get half and for 5 you only get a quater but you get to choice which objects you want. Bigger lots!

I have played sims my whole life, and Im still young. It has taught me many important things and yes there are times that I use the cheats.. But when you dont use the cheats, it comes to reality. I Love Playing this game. And It is becoming more and more fun. They shouldnt have an online one… Who cares what other people think about it… they should just go on the internet and play on virtual worlds. This Is SIms… its Of your own town, your people.. And thats how it should always be. Thank you sim creators

I think that either in a new game or an expansion they should make a time period progression. Meaning, that you could start off in say the 1300’s and the available options you could have would be relative to the time period, and new tech becoming available as time progresses through the decades. Then the whole town could grow and evolve with the time. Kind of like how they did in Sim City games

  • http://Website Any Mouse

Didn’t Sims online crash and burn though? The Sims isn’t well designed to be multiplayer, so they wouldn’t get much benefit other than the accursed DRM.

  • http://Website Liam

I think that if TS4 was to be online, for starters you can play online or offline its up to you, if you choose to play online then they should have a town like they do on sims 3, with AI in all the house so if you wish to go there you can, but if you go to a park people online should be there and you can talk to them, the only way you can go to there house or them come to yours, is by an invite, also there should be invite for friends once you have talked to them. The online game should coexist with normal AI. I think that would be cool!!

  • James

Sims 4 must be online, I would imagine some sort of party mode or destination where people could meet new friends with characters they created to invite back to their homes.. Also a interactive first person mode would be a nice option. Have a beer or a cup of coffee chatting it up with randoms

I hope The Sims 4 doesn’t go online. That would be really confusing and probably really slow. You guys complain about a huge bug problem in the game (I am one of them) so I bet that if it was online, there would be a lot of bugs. Plus, it would kind of ruin the point of the game. Especially now with The Sims Social

  • http://thesims3.com/mypage/simlead Simlead

I partly agree with it not going on line and instead becoming more realistic if possible. But ideally, I think that if we could have online parties and a few other things but still have the game privately like we have it with TS3. in other words, we have both things, but seperately. And I agree with Evan, we have The Sims Social now, once that’s up, we might get a bit bored because we have two of thing.

  • http://Website Joseph

I think they should have the option to make The Sims 4 online. As a player of The Sims 3, I’d say some people do not have the Internet. With the Sims 3, the player as the option to show their creations online. Keep that. Make a Sims 4, which includes everything that The Sims 3 has, but will an outstanding graphics. My suggestion is keep with the seamless neighborhood, but get rid of the loading screens. Keep a maxium of one loading screen.

Here some ideas for The Sims 4:

    -MARRIAGE:
    Churches; Marriage Celemonies

    -RELIGION:
Just like The Sims Medieval, but in Modern Day

    -BABBIES:
pregnancy, babbies born in a seamless hospital, no rabbit holes.

    Thanks for considering my ideas,

    a Sims player

But when my friend telled me it was to late :( And one think i think the sims should not have so high reqrusments, beacuse if you want to be enabled to play the game you need like the newest computer to play it on. I realy want a online version of ether The sims or that someone comes with a new game thats like The Sims but online. I realy want to play with my friends and just have a game like the sims but online, so you can like build a house and visit others player and all that things :) i hope they get a online version of ts4 or restors tso….

  • http://www.texturesrus.net Liz Gallagher

TSO in 2001 was my 1st exp of online socializing and actually talking to people from other countries
It was revolutionary, ahead of its time for sure. It was the Grandfather of all of the online social platforms that were born after it.

The reason it got old was EA Games didn’t maintain it like WOW is constantly being updated and new game play elements added to keep people hooked.

EA Games allowed TSO to get old graphically and people moved on to other worlds like Secondlife.com and There.com

What TSO had that no other online social platform had or has had since is the option of a game objective.

Many new people to places like Second Life log in and say “What do I do now?” because there is no “objective” other than buy stuff and have pixel sex
You can basically “play house” get married, buy or build a house, decorate it buy a virtual pet and even have a virtual baby.

OR you can play the market and get creative and make and sell digital content as I do since 2004.

But I miss TSO I miss the fact there was a common goal….skill up, get rewards like better animations for higher skill levels, compete on the top 100 house categories, play pizza or band…

People talked to each other with ease…it wasn’t considered weird to start a conversation with a stranger because you were both sat there for hours skilling up – so it was the obvious thing to do and I LOVE that about it.

I have played There.com and SL and some other virtual worlds that never took off and non of them every gave me the “wow” factor I got from the first time I went online to play TSO after playing the PC games for a year.

I am now back to playing the PC games and it’s a lonely hobby really.

With the intro of more and more online games played on PCs and consoles EA Games really can’t keep on ignoring the obvious and that is, to compete with other games on the market they HAVE to take it to a place were you can play with and against other real people.

Since TSO Facebook and other social media websites have taken off big time…. taking The SIms back online would be the obvious thing to do and more so as a plugin to FaceBook for example..

To be able to listen to your friends music in their virtual house or play scrabble etc its essentially Facebook in 3D

If EA Games don’t do it…someone else will

I don’t think that going online would be good for The Sims. If that happens, it will just turn into another Second Life. What drew me in to The Sims was the fact that you can create your own perfect life, all by yourself, with no one interrupting or changing anything. We already have some online elements with SimPort that came with Showtime; Isn’t that enough?

  • Crystal

*slaps surrr in the back of the head* Moron! the sims online was around way before second life and it was 10 times better. When they took the sims online off, alot of people were still playing. It could have easily been saved with a fresh update here and there, more clothes and venues and such. But no they didnt think of that did they.

OH MY GOD. For all the people in comments who played TSO (The Sims Online) you KNOW what I’m talking about when I say that game was FUN.
I wasn’t a beta tester, I came in 2003 and I fucking loved it. It DID get boring just skilling up and stuff, they tried to do new things towards the end like where you could buy and have interactive pets and you could actually go to your job and see what your sim did at work.
I loved talking with everyone and if you wanted to live in a house with other people you could be ‘roommates’ and some people joined online mafias.
There were houses that were specifically made for certain skills or people would pretend to own restaurants.
With Sims 4 it’s so far ahead of what Sims 1 was it could be so much better. Second Life just never won my heart. They should make Sims 4 offline and online.. or just freaking make TSO again!!
