OH… MY… GOD… ZOMBIES? THEY LOOK SO AMAZING I CAN’T BELIEVE IT! Also they’ve improved on the vampires? Man this EP is looking so frigging amazing.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMG!!!!!! I sooooooo though hope the purplish and shock pink potions and shit can be changed into other colors. I mean what the hell? MUCH more magical with weird red or goldy orange or blueish stuff.
and who did that first fairy “house” thingy?? It’ looks like blown up compact blocky marshmallow that’s just waaaaay not detailed/pretty/chiseled to be fairyish enough. It’ looks like a damn mold or something :S
the second fairyhousething that was arounda tree? or something, that was nicer, but those round windows better be changed a bit so it won’t look like a _boat_.
and where are the brokenish antique windows and such that were in makin’ magic?

But I Really hope they think about hybrids. I mean how can people like me who’d love to have _all_ beings in the same household/family get offspring other than hybridish? If they’re not gonna’ fix the genievampirehybrids or make a way to remove genie-genes like with vampirism so oen coudl choose which abilities to have possible (though all abliites shoudl eb available in hybrids…-.-).
THey gotta’ make hybrids work _Well_. Otherwise it’d eb a disaster.
And all “states” need to be curable. And all hybrids should only gain from hybridism.
If a hybrid sim would be shit like the genievampires losing their glow and planess + all supernatural abilities other htan learning fast and jump up in the glow cloud occasionally, it’d be plain shit.

EA is really messing with their fans… This EP does look cool, but it would be much better if it was standalone game, like Medieval, it is just going to change the whole game, it’s like Ambitions or Late night isn’t there… It’s simply a weird choice…

WTH are you talking about? People have wanted a Magic/Supernatural EP since The Sims 2. I swear, some people have to complain about anything and everything. >_>
and we really, really need to be able to change colors on _everything_. We all have different history and opinions so to make it work we need to be able to customixe everything ingame.
Hopefully if EA’d be angels they’d let us recolor the ground in the neighborhoods and adjust stuff more easily. just the terrainpaints should at least be “harmless” to do + trees that “lands all teh way down” and not balance on a lower half of a ball on the ground.

So many people have been crying for this since Makin’ Magic, and now we get it people complain?
It looks brilliant, and it’s not realistic – which is what Sims was about (at least until Sims 3 didnt follow that pattern as much). The Sims is about getting away from real life and being fun – and that’s what this pack will bring! CANT WAIT!

This isn’t a patch on Makin’ Magic. That Expansion Pack was the last hurrah for the original Sims series, and was actually thought out very well. It had charm, something this EP will lack in. Let’s face it, The Sims 3 is now aimed at a certain “younger” market, one which the original, older fans don’t understand.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I’ve never once asked for this EP, so it makes sense why I’m upset.
The actual content in the pack looks fine, but it will be absolutely horrible to play and would probably be suited more towards a spin-off.
The Sims 2 introduced a new supernatural Sim with each new EP. This worked great because you could still enjoy the life simulator but play it in a different way.
But a whole pack dedicated to a variety of different monsters and supernatural Sims? It will be chaos. You pretty much won’t be able to play the game as a life simulator but with a touch of supernatural here and there because the WHOLE town will probably end up converting into something. You will pretty much HAVE to play it as a supernatural game, probably ignoring the content from the other 6 EPs and base game in the process.
I honestly feel expansion packs should add onto the experience of the game as a whole, not keep itself separate. I can’t see this being an easy to enjoy and play EP. It’ll be too crazy.
I hope I’m wrong, but with vampires running around everywhere as it is, can you imagine adding another 6 supernatural Sims on top of that?

Sims is a life simulator, not a fairytale in my opinion. There are other games for that. I know they introduced other creatures into the sims allready and I can say; I don’t like it, that’s the reason I never play with weird creatures.
Though I would be happier with weather, this looks pretty awesome!
Also for those who cannot read Russian, it does say that it is coming out in September (for those still wondering when it’s coming out).
There’s going to be a collaboration with Plants Vs. Zombies for this game? What? Didn’t see that one coming.
The way the trailer’s done reminds me of the Ambitions announce trailer, yet it didn’t really excite me that much. Hopefully there’s plenty of options because I might want witches and werewolves but not fairies and zombies.

Apparently people are complaining that there are supernatural creatures in each EP that’s why most of them just asked for an EP for supernatural creatures and then they will have to skip it. So here’s it.
And many people liked Makin’ Magic and felt the magic in AL is lacking. This one is pretty much wanted by many. This “many” is comprised of those who loves werewolves, fairies, zombies and witches. I just hope, the witches would be given much justice…
If you don’t like it, then skip it.

At all who don’t want supernatural stuff runnign aroudn in neighborhoods and to EA most of all:
Get us on/off.buttons for the supernatural beings spawning……!
That’s a crucial thing.
And make each creature possible to turn on/off separately + “cure” possibility for them as well.
And make an on/off-switch with the celebrity system and the rumors from late night as well.
+ the curfew, needs to be adjustable or possible to turn off. It’s so damn annoying when the adults yell at my children because they’d want to go catch a fish or whatever.
ON/OFF-buttons, for the win….! That’d help all players, and most of all EA. So get us that….!

One can see new a “action” for the vampire here? + a new ugly bed? Hmm. Oh well. Hope there’s enhancement of them only.

EA havent really pushed it as a life simulator with The Sims 3. Maxis always put random stuff in it to make the game fun and a breath away from real life. It simulates the people, but doesn’t mean it has to be realistic.
I do agree games are now lacking the charm, and EA are pushing away the core players with The Sims 3… I am really hoping The Sims 4 goes back to it’s roots like how Sims 1 was — just like how SimCity is going.
Which was boring as hell, as well.
I’m not a fan of supernatural creatures, but I really don’t mind when they’re introduced in a ex. pack. A WHOLE pack dedicated to it?? Bleh

I don’t want any part of this. I’ve never wanted anything supernatural in my game since I started playing Sims 1. Every EP that isn’t seasons is just one big “F— YOU!” And a giant middle finger from EA. I couldn’t tell you the last time I started up what has become a piece of crap game.
Guys we have been asking for an ep like this since sims 3 came out. I’m sorry but they obviously have a reason to not release weather yet. Perhaps they want to release it as the final ep to keep people nteresed. I think this ep looks super amazing.

If you don’t like this EP then don’t buy it. The target is not clearly for all of you who do not want it. And besides, they created this one because a lot of people are asking for it.

What with the popularity of shows/movies/games like Supernatural, Grimm, and Of Course Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Star Trek, Star Wars, Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry, and literally scores of other Movies, Tv Shows, and Video Games out there that are based largely on Fantasy, Sci-Fi, or [Insert Genre Name Here]. It sells and is a subculture unto itself almost. So why, I ask, wouldn’t it be in the Sims games when it is in every other aspect of Media Based entertainment?
Beyond the crappy Logo, I’d happily pay the Katy Perry Price …um…EP/SP/Whatever it was supposed to be, It looks like they pulled all the stops for this one. So I for one hope it lives up to it’s trailer, I hope they don’t divulge everything in the game, like so many times before, so that it is all a huge surprise for once.
The Creatures look awesome, I do hope they put a control slider in place, I really don’t want my towns overrun with undead zombie celebrity hordes (Although it’d be pretty damn funny…Night of the living dead with plastic surgery( Another popular genre, Horror…))
Anyways, I genuinely hope it lives up to it’s trailer. And doesn’t cause my computer to violently implode the first time I play it, looks like A LOT of content for once, even if there isn’t a lot of actual objects alone, the creatures and their behavior programming takes up a lot of hard-drive space.

Werewolves look much spookier than in TS2, Zombies look realistic (and I think I saw one bite another in the trailer..) Do you think that if you had ‘Supernatural’ without ‘Late Night’, you’d be able to become a vampire?

Plants vs Zombies is an old PopCap game. I only know of it cause of World of Warcraft (Blizzard likes to add pop-culture refference and geeky stuff to the game). I believe it’s basically the same. You have to plant different kind of plants to defend you from a zombie attack. You have to make lines of defences and the planst attack the zombies and kill them. It’s a lot of fun
You probably missunderstood me… I didn’t say I don’t like supernatural in Sims… Not at all, I loved the aliens and other “weird” things in Sims 2… But then, it didn’t change the whole concept of the game. Then, it was just some side gameplay, it didn’t affect the whole game much. But this expansion looks like it’s all about zombies, werewolves, fairies, vampires and other “weird” stuff. It pretty much changes the whole game. It’s not like Late Night, where you can become a famous person, but only if you wish to. Same goes for Ambitions and Showtime… They didn’t change the gameplay itself.

When they first show the werewolf it reminds of Teen Wolf. Love that show so much.
Would be really cool though if they could have Supernatural Hunter profession where you can take care of problem supernaturals. That or just reason so the supernaturals have a reason to be careful.

Okay, so I’ve been a bit apprehensive about getting a Supernatural EP since the rumors started (I’ve really been hoping for University and Seasons) but this does look pretty awesome. Vampires is one of my favorite things about Sims, and having werewolves/witches/fairies/zombies also sounds really fun. I’m kind of concerned about how hard this will be on my laptop, though; having all those life states and new features thrown into one EP seems pretty demanding.

Well, I seem to remember in Ts2 Apartment Life, every time I went to a community lot some crazy witch would randomly show up out of nowhere with a bunch of shining light all over the place. It bugged me really badly, because in some cases I didn’t want witches slowing everything down with those crazy effects.
Anita Blake & Merry Gentry are the first things that came to mind watching that trailer, hope they have a undead raising profession, as well as a Van Helsing type one. Lol!
I am the only one that think the new “vampire” is a creature that can transform in others creatures?
The werewolf looks way better then the sims 2. Its still looks a like the old stereo type teen werewolf but I guess for the sims it fits. For me I guess I like werewolves transformed all the way. For the sims though it only transforming part way is ok.

I couldn’t agree with this more.
Everyone can say that if you don’t like it, don’t buy it. But that is completely missing the point, I’ve never once skipped out on buying an Expansion Pack until The Sims 3 came along, I still haven’t even purchased World Adventures.
The base game had such hope, all the early screenshots made it look like the be all that would end all Sims game forever, making it the best one yet. But we were disappointed, by a badly made game and a slew of uninteresting Expansion Packs.
You can disagree if you like, this is just my opinion. But the fact that I get more enjoyment out of my Sims 2 games than I do Sims 3, goes to show that the latest series isn’t hitting the spot for me. And that makes me incredibly sad, as I’ve been a loyal fan for 12 years. So you can see that when EA announce an Expansion Pack such as this, it feels like a huge slap in the face to us long term fans.
I understand that the younger and somewhat “newer” fans have been asking for this, but can’t you see our side too? We’ve been holding out for a proper Sims game ever since The Sims 2 ended, and now I have very little hope left which I am saving up for The Sims 4.
Please guys, don’t just think because you wanted it, it should have happened. Take a look at the history of The Sims franchise, and tell me that this Supernatural Expansion Pack is the right way to go, because it isn’t.
EA know what they are doing, and they have tapped into the “Twilight” market and very successfully, caught people’s attention.
I for one, do not want any of those creatures roaming my neighbourhoods, this will in turn, make everyday, normal gameplay impossible. Get ready for zombie neighbours and werewolf co-workers!

I’m an _old_ fan, but excited over the top for this ep. I’ve plaed since the sims 1 came out, and sure there are things the third version could do a lot better, but this ep looks freakin’ awesome

I love how you assume everyone interested in this EP is either a kid or new to the sims series. That is terribly bigoted of you, as I’ve been a sims player since 2003-4, Making Magic was the second EP I bought after Unleashed (Right when It came out) I loved that EP, easily my favorite in the whole series, and like many other long time players, I’m not a kid either. Wow, you are SOOO narrow minded in your assumptions, Do you know the amount of people who are True Blood fans, who aren’t teens? It isn’t all Twilight BS, there are hardcore fantasy horror fans who would like this stuff too. Besides I had to eat my words over Showtime, it was more fun then I thought I’d be, so I’m less harsh then I used to be.
I do agree they need a slider to control them, I’ve said that since LN. I have a neighborhood full of Vampire Celebrities 95% of the time. My sims don’t leave their house or make friends with the neighbors, so it is avoidable if they’re hermits, albeit annoying, but this PACK actually looks like alot of Fun, something that’s been missing from S3, which has become tedious and trite overwrought with it’s attempts at realism, and if you have a whole neighborhood full of coots and weirdos, the holly wood undead isn’t so bad.
Believe me, I’m still a huge critic of EA, but I’ve come to realize it isn’t just EA who’s doing more for less, and bite sizing game content, and all the other crap we complain about, the whole damn industry is going to the dogs. I’ve read innumerous articles on MANY Many other sites about similar complaints with almost every other developer out there for the same things we get po’ed at EA for. Even the reduced quality, so it is the industry not just the developer’s fault, don’t excuse it but it does highlight a growing problem, and with the next generation consoles, it’ll make gaming obsolete at the rate they are trying to “one up” each other.

In a little over two hours from now, the sims 3 site will be down. They are updating it for Supernatural. Also, I have insider knowledge that tomorrow is the day. Trust me, I’m not a doctor.
* Before i go into detail about my opinion, would someone kindly tell me when this EP comes out in the U.S. thank you. Also, i have a mac laptop that uses lion, but even in my Snow leopard,sims 2 didn’t work. I was told that the computers were to modern but are there any macs that sims2 still works on??
I agree with everyone who says that there needs to be a slider to determine wether you want to have the supernatural creatures or not, but how do we know that there isn’t? I’m not taking EA’s side or disagreeing with everyone else, just making a statement. Unlike some of the users making longer comments, I am a kid but am not new to sims. Well technically I’ve only ever owned Sims 2-3 (because of y age when it came out) but my sister and close friends always were playing sims 1 so Im not extremely new to the sims. This expansion pack seems fun, but the more comments i read, the less excited i am getting, i guess its the fact that having zombies and werewolves roaming the streets doesn’t exactly appeal to me. Im still waiting for a seasons (i barley got to play it for TS2) but any expansion pack is cause for celebration!

I heard the rumors about this EP and I wasn’t impressed but now I have saw the trailer I want it! I only started playing the sims when the sims 2 released and I have every game except the sims 1 series and all the console games I am a big fan. it was like Showtime I saw the trailer and I said late night remake but once I bought it I am addicted to it. I loved the witches and warlocks in the sims 2 and I am quite excited about the zombies but all they need to do is add a new tab in the age sliders menu and make it for faiths etc and set it to 2 sims per world or 0 sims per world so it will make gameplay good for everybody if you don’t want werewolves just set it to zero but if you want to make a zombie apocalypse set it to the highest.
I love this ep, I want it so bad right now… I was hoping for a seasons ep, but this is great… I think people who don’t like Sims 3 is because of their computer. I used to hate sims 3 because I played it on an old computer, but now I have a new one and it looks awesome… way better than sims 2.

First of all as a reply to the person saying the only people wanting magic where “kids and twilight fans”, no. I am a teen and I am new to the series I joined before late night. I am also a horror fan, I hate twilight and infant I found true blood recently and am secretly a fan. I didn’t ask for magic, I wanted to just see where things go, I didn’t beg or plead for magic like I see a bunch of “old coots like you” begging on the forums. I get it, your a long time fan, that doesn’t mean you have any more say in what happens than I. You act as if they owe you the entire franchise. You can go ahead and whine and complain about “where is seasons? I am a long time fan and I deserve this and that!” did it ever cross your mind that, maybe, just maybe they are working on it? For pets they were workin gin it since the game released. Would you rather a super crappy “weather” in the base game vs. a full EP of weather with proper animations and such? They don’t pull EP out of thin air. Most of the things you are whining about they are probably working on right now. And you complain saying “I am loyal and they won’t give it to me!” well you don’t seem loyal right now, you seem like a “kid” who loves twilight and is complaining about something they don’t even know about.
You wonder why EP are sometimes missing love and thought. It’s because people like you are discouraging them and making them think, our fans don’t care and complain when we work on what they want, why should we care?
Instead of acting like they owe you the world get a grip, they could be working on it. Don’t judge the sims 3 vs. sims 2. Sims 2 had its run, sims 3 isn’t even done yet!
