New Sims 3 Tool (Beta) – Delphy’s CAS Texture Unitool

Delphy seems as if he doesn’t ever sleep.  He’s been cranking out programs at a faster rate than Madonna can adopt children (drums *bada boom tish*).  His latest tool, which is in beta – BETA gives the content creators the ability to edit textures for Sim’s clothing.

The CAS Texture Unitool (hereafter referred to as CTU), is a tool to basically allow you to edit the CAS Part files that control which textures appear on which meshes. Using this tool, you may add new textures that appear in CAS for a specific mesh. You may also edit the pattern cutouts for those textures, the specular, the base colours, and pretty much everything possible thats available in the file.

Tutorial can be found here.

I’d like to give a huge thanks to my friend Petreak for informing me of this new program!

can you please explain to me what you mean in the tutorial when you say “merge the two layers and then split them off into their own image”? in Step 11 I believe… after you merge the two parts so you get the red background with yellow bikinis. I understand the merge part, but i haven’t the faintest idea how I’m supposed to “split the layers into their own image” and I have done a few dozen google searches and I’m ripping my hair out trying to figure out what i”m supposed to do, I’ve been at it for over an hour.

Yeah, that tutorial is good up until Step 11 and then it becomes incredibly vague and unhelpful, it doesn’t explain specifically how to save the things or how to separate the layer or anything, I was doing great up until that point. Sucks I wasted so much time getting up to that point, now I don’t know what to do.

I have this but every time I open it, it gives me an error saying “CASPartEditor has stopped working” I saw a thread about it but nothing works.

    I have Win 7 64bit
    DirectX 11
    Both .NET 3.5 and 2.0

what else would be causing this error to appear?
