Le Blog de Val – MySims SkyHeroes & Racing concept art

Amongst the many concept artist sites SimCookie spotted, there was a french artist who goes by the name of ‘Val’ that worked on MySims SkyHeroes and MySims Racing.  She appears to now be with Warner Brothers games, so there is no telling if she’ll be contracted to work on future EA games.  You can view her misc. artworks on her portfolio site, Le Blog de Val.

I’m fine with bundles, 2 games for a low price is great for those that may of missed out on playing them the first go-around.  The problem is the so called ‘great price’ which for this bundle, isn’t all that great.  GameStop put up a new product page for a MySims Wii Bundle that includes both the original MySims game and MySims Racing.  Their price point at this time?  $50.  I can get both of these – on Ebay – for about $30 with a little time spent searching. SimOperations – MySims Racing review for Nintendo Wii

I can’t go into much detail with the creative options and story mode as I don’t play a lot with them features. I like to get straight into the racing! Story mode introduces you slowly into the game, as it unlocks the tracks and championships over time. Each character has a small “challenge” for you to complete, for example, collect some pizzas around a track. There is a small or significant reward for your completion. As you keep moving around the town, some sims may require your help around. This is a review, right? So, I must comment on this feature. Story mode is a great introduction into the game, as you start from easier challenges to harder ones. A first time player may see this as essential to learn the controls and practice. MySims Racing is effectively a kid-friendly version of The Sims. It’s much simpler in storyline and controls. And it is, but the difference is, the core element of The Sims is removed: virtual life. MySims is a much more unrealistic experience with cartoonish characters. I must agree with IGN’s review of the game, in that, MySims is a more of a spin-off.

It’s not too late to pick up a copy of MySims Racing if you haven’t already.  However, make a note that when MySims Agents comes out, it may get a price drop.  Finish reading the rest of the review over at SimOperations!
